Services

Consulting scoped to the decisions in front of you

Engagements are analytical and advisory. We prepare findings, frameworks and options; the client retains every decision, and regulated activity remains with appropriately regulated providers.

Advisory scope

Ten areas of consulting practice

Most mandates combine several of these. The emphasis is determined by the client's structure, not by a fixed service package.

01

Strategic Asset Allocation Consulting

Structural review of how capital is distributed across asset classes, currencies, geographies and liquidity tiers, framed against stated objectives, constraints and tolerance for loss.

  • Objective and constraint definition
  • Asset-class framework design
  • Currency and jurisdiction considerations
  • Documented allocation rationale
02

Portfolio Review & Diagnostics

An independent read of an existing portfolio: what it actually holds, what it is exposed to, and where structure diverges from intent.

  • Holdings and look-through analysis
  • Overlap and hidden correlation review
  • Cost, complexity and product-structure assessment
  • Gap analysis versus stated objectives
03

Traditional Asset Strategy

Consulting across public equities, fixed income, funds and ETFs, private markets, real assets, commodities and cash management.

  • Portfolio architecture and diversification
  • Fixed-income and duration considerations
  • Manager and product assessment
  • Macro and market context
04

Digital Asset & Crypto Strategy

Sober, structured consulting on digital-asset exposure: whether it is appropriate, how it might be sized, and how it should be held and controlled.

  • Suitability and sizing frameworks
  • Custody architecture options
  • Exchange and counterparty review
  • Integration with traditional holdings
05

Risk Mapping & Scenario Analysis

Identification and articulation of the risks a position actually carries, tested against adverse but plausible scenarios.

  • Market, liquidity and counterparty risk mapping
  • Concentration and single-point-of-failure review
  • Stress and drawdown scenarios
  • Risk-tolerance calibration
06

Market Intelligence & Research

Considered research notes and thematic analysis prepared for a client's specific decisions rather than general distribution.

  • Macro and policy context
  • Asset-class structural themes
  • Digital-asset market structure
  • Bespoke question-led research
07

Liquidity and Treasury Consulting

Planning around cash requirements, buffers, banking relationships and the practical availability of capital when needed.

  • Liquidity laddering and buffers
  • Currency and settlement considerations
  • Banking and payment-rail redundancy
  • Corporate treasury policy input
08

Due Diligence and Counterparty Review

Structured assessment of the institutions, platforms, products and providers a client depends upon.

  • Counterparty and platform review frameworks
  • Product documentation analysis
  • Operational and control questions
  • Concentration of provider dependency
09

Family Office & Entrepreneurial Wealth Consulting

Support for families, founders and closely held businesses where personal and corporate balance sheets are intertwined.

  • Consolidated view across entities
  • Pre- and post-liquidity-event structuring questions
  • Governance and decision protocols
  • Next-generation involvement and education
10

Coordination with External Regulated Providers

Acting as an analytical counterpart to a client's professional network, so that regulated work is properly briefed and consistently executed.

  • Legal, tax and accounting coordination
  • Banking, brokerage and custody liaison
  • Regulated investment provider interaction
  • Consistent documentation across advisers

How we work

A consistent method, applied to each mandate

The sequence rarely changes. What changes is depth, and the range of counterparties and jurisdictions involved.

  1. 01

    Initial conversation

Scope, objectives and jurisdictional context established. We confirm whether consulting is appropriate and where regulated advisers are required.

  2. 02

    Information gathering

Existing structure, holdings, entities, providers and documentation reviewed to build a consolidated picture.

  3. 03

    Analysis and risk mapping

Concentration, liquidity, counterparty and operational exposures identified and tested against adverse scenarios.

  4. 04

    Findings and options

A written assessment setting out observations, options and trade-offs in plain language, with assumptions stated.

  5. 05

    Implementation support

Where instructed, we brief and coordinate with the client's regulated legal, tax, banking, brokerage and custody providers.

  6. 06

    Periodic review

Frameworks revisited at agreed intervals or when circumstances, markets or regulation change materially.

Engagement formats

Three ways to work with us

Scope, deliverables and fees are agreed in writing before any work begins.

Format 01

Strategic Review

A defined, time-boxed review producing a written assessment of current structure, risks and options. Often the first engagement and a natural decision point.
Format 02

Project-Based Mandate

Focused work on a specific question: a digital-asset framework, a liquidity plan, a counterparty review, or preparation ahead of a transaction or transition.
Format 03

Ongoing Advisory Retainer

A continuing relationship with periodic review cycles, availability for decisions as they arise, and consistent documentation over time.

Scope note

Availability and scope of services may depend on jurisdiction, applicable law, client eligibility, suitability considerations and agreed engagement terms. Maxwell Partners Ltd does not execute transactions, hold client assets or provide regulated advice.
